Minutes of the regular meeting of the West Liberty Business
Association held on
Present were Julie McIntosh representing the Promotion Committee, Kathy Lowry, Steve Mast, Mark Nelson, Cindy Oelker & Bob Rabenstein.
The minutes of the meeting held on
Bob Rabenstein, Treasurer, gave the financial report indicating a present balance in the bank of $9,177.81.
Julie McIntosh gave a brief update on the activities of the Promotion Committee.
Margaret Piatt and Jeff Hooper are pursuing an arts grant to help fund the Paint the Town event in 2009.
The Committee is considering having the Paint the Town and Ice Cream Social events on the same day in 2008 and maybe adding chips and sandwiches to the Ice Cream Social. Also, they are considering the idea of getting a local business or 2 to sponsor some type of entertainment that same day.
Becky Small & Julie McIntosh are starting to contact members about advertising in the new brochures.
It was noted that Ruth & Ken Hill, owners of Hill
Country, are moving to
Kathy had checked with Susan Frobe in Bellefontaine and the benches there cost $848.00 each. However, Kathy had found some heavy, aluminum benches on clearance at Lowes. She had checked at Lowes and they only have 2 in stock, but among the local stores there are maybe 7-9 benches available. She and Steve mast plan to go to Bellefontaine immediately following the meeting to look into purchasing the benches as they were on clearance for less than $200.00. Results to be reported at September meeting.
Kathy volunteered to follow-up on proposal from Ann Morrow
& husband to enter into a contract to keep the
Labor Day Pork Dinner on Sunday from
Kathy reminded everyone that at the September meeting we will be making plans for the semi-annual meeting of the West Liberty Business Association members.
There being no further business to come before the Board the
