Minutes of the regular monthly meeting of the West Liberty
Business Association Board held on
Present were Kathy Lowry, Steve Mast, Ann Morrow, Cindy Oelker, & Bob Rabenstein.
The minutes of the meeting held on
Bob Rabenstein gave the treasurer’s report with copies for each member showing the following:
Present Cash Balance of $8,481.27
Net
Income from
Major expenditures for last year of $1,036.39 for new benches and $1,530.00 for new trash containers
He also gave each member a list of local business that had
paid dues in the past but had not paid yet for 2008. If all business that paid
dues in the past were to pay again this year approximately $1,700.00 would be
available to fund projects for this year. Cindy Oelker moved that the
Treasurer’s Report be accepted.
Kathy Lowry reported briefly on the Promotion Committee meeting. Work continues on a job description for an Events Coordinator. The Committee is concerned about the small attendance and the fact that the same few continue to do the work. Everyone commented that this is a common problem in almost every organization. No one had a solution to the problem.
It was agreed to have the “Annual” Meeting at the Liberty Gathering Place on Tuesday, April 8, 2008, with dinner at 6:30 PM and meeting at 7:00 PM. One of the matters to be considered is changing from Semi-Annual meetings of the membership to Annual meetings of the membership. Since the attendance has been very low at the semi-annual meetings, the Directors felt that perhaps an annual meeting would be better suited to the membership.
Three Board members will be need to be elected at the membership meeting in April.
