Minutes of the regular monthly meeting of the West Liberty Business Association Board held on Thursday, March 6, 2008, at the West Liberty Gathering Place at 7:45AM.

Present were Bob Rabenstein, Cindy Oelker, Ann Murray, Steve Mast & Kathy Lowry.

Bob Rabenstein gave the treasurer’s report showing receipts from January 1, 2008, to March 5, 2008, of $2,673.57 and a current balance of $8,953.68. A list of members indicating those that have paid their dues for 2008 and those who have not yet paid was provided. These reports are attached to and made a part of these minutes.

Kathy Lowry reported on the Promotion Committee.

The annual activity “Paint the Town” will be cancelled this year due to the lack of a person to manage & someone to sponsor the event.

The Mac-o-Chee Valley folks will provide entertainment at the Ice Cream Social to be held on Saturday, July 19, 2008.

The plans for the “annual“ meeting were discussed. The meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 8, 2008, at the Liberty Gathering Place. Dinner will be at 6:30PM with the meeting to begin at 7:00PM. Robert Rabenstein will be the emcee. Dinner will be a cafeteria bar with drinks included at a cost of $11.95. After some discussion it was agreed to personally invite the Mayor of West Liberty, the West Liberty Village Council and Jay King representing the Historical Society, asking each of them how we might all work together for the betterment of West Liberty and the community surrounding West Liberty. Kathy Lowry will get some people willing to be voted on to replace Board members Robert Rabenstein whose term is expiring and to complete the un-expired term of Stephen Mast who has resigned his position on the Board. Also to be voted on at the meeting will be the change of semi-annual membership meetings to an annual meeting of the membership.

Ann Morrow volunteered to begin putting together a list of member’s E-mail addresses. This will enable us to communicate with members easier, faster and more economically.

There will be no meeting of the Board in April. The next meeting will be on May 8, 2008, which will be the re-organizational meeting to include the election of officers for the coming year.

Respectfully,

Stephen H. Mast, Secretary
