May 1, 2007/ West Liberty Promotions Committee Meeting/ Liberty Gathering Place

West Liberty note cards are finished. They are to be used by association members for event thank yous and other correspondence.

Website update: Kathy has been unable to connect with Scott so no further work with Becky has been established. Ann Morrow has been contacted for her assistance in cross training Becky.

Ann Morrow is also going to be distributing brochures to the Yellow Springs area for the business association. Thank you to Ann for her assistance!!

Calendar update: Kathy shared the prices for making a community calendar. It was agreed to table the calendar idea for this year due to the cost.

Sandy shared her conversation with Pam Miller of the Indian Lake Chamber about sharing information about each communities upcoming events and sharing brochures with the Lake area. Sandy will talk again with Pam to set up the exchange.

Margaret shared the West Liberty article she had worked on that we will give to Candace for publication. Everyone liked the article so Sandy will forward it to Candace for publishing in several sources.

Mark Nelson is taking 4000 brochures to Columbus for distribution around Ohio.

There will be no maps printed for the Fire Sale on May 19, 2007.

June 23 is Paint the Town and Castle event. Margaret reported that 10 artists are expected and more are being recruited. Historic houses will be matched with artists along with Cindy Terry at her Blackberry Ridge, Marilyn Bowman at The Ice Cream Parlor and another artist at Global Crafts. The Castle events will be at Mac-O-Chee.

Flyers will be distributed on Fire Sale Day. There is an advertising opportunity in Champaign County with the group that coordinates the historic home and garden tour. Concerning a raffle for this event, the artists may choose to raffle their paintings with the winners being announced at the Ice Cream Social on July 14, 2007.

Sandy is working on an insert for our brochures that will outline the upcoming events in West Liberty.
