Mr. Harrison has not heard from Rick Watkins of Watkins Electric on the electrical changes required to enable our use of the EMA generator.
Steve Smith of Aqua-Line was in and located the water leak
on the 2” main on W. Baird. The leak
appears to be under a tree at the Northwest corner of 311 W. Baird. Heater Excavating is to dig as soon as the
weather breaks. He did not find any
problems on
Cont.
Mr. Nash and Mr. Bell installed the rebuilt Flygt pump in lift station #2 last week. The effluent piping was cracked and leaking. JR Mason repaired the effluent piping at no charge because his crew had made repairs on this lift station last year. Mr. Mason thought they had not properly leveled the pump receiver and caused the effluent piping to crack.
The application for funding needs to be turned in soon and lists of projects need to be written. We have not heard anything from the Issue II money.
Mr. Harrison has been working on the End of the Year reports. The sludge reports only have to be done quarterly because the sludge is only hauled twice a year. The MASI testing/billing should be less.
Mr. Hudson if anyone on the staff for the water/sewer department was experienced in backhoe work so we would not have to hire to do this work. Mr. Harrison does think anyone would have experience except for maybe David Bell. We do have a Case Tractor but it does not have a backhoe and he doesn’t know how much it would be for an attachment. Mr. Harrison will ask Cooper next time on a dig.
A letter needs to be sent explaining the reason for getting loans for the water and sewer projects. This will be approved by Council before sent to residents.

A MOTION was made by Mr. Hudson, seconded by Mr. Smith to get at least two (2) bids when digging water/sewer lines except in an emergency situation. Motion Carried.
Mr. King will be presenting rate increase to council
Monday. The rate increase suggested
would be $3.00 on water base and $3.00 on sewer base still allowing 4,000
gallons of water/sewer used each month.
The excess charges suggested are $3.60 per 1,000 gallons over 4,000
gallons up to 8,000 gallons of water used and $3.90 anything over 8,000 gallons
and excess for sewer amount will be $3.30 per 1,000 gallons over 4,000 gallons
used. They are suggesting this increase will be in effect
