Mr. Harrison and Carter Excavating repaired water main on W.
Baird and Reynolds. They installed the
repair clamp and back filled around the main with pea gravel. Since the three main repairs our pumpage from
the WTP has decreased about 25,000 GPD. Mr. Harrison wished it would have been
more.
Mr. Harrison talked with Linda Bailiff, Administrator of the
Small Government Program of the Ohio Public Works Commission. She indicated we should have a good chance of
receiving a 1% loan for $114500.00. This
loan will provide the financing to complete the WWTP Headworks project. The annual payment would be about $6400.00
for 20 years.
Pete Hodapp emailed an amended application and will have
Mayor Hostetler sign and Clerk will mail it.
The engineering costs are not included in the loan, which will be about
$12400.00.
JR Mason gave an updated price for the valve replacement for
WTP filter #2. Mr. Harrison talked with
the valve supplier and they only priced one valve and we need two.
The new quote will be $5789.00. Mr. Harrison is checking different companies.
Mr. Harrison reported the
sludge storage area will be full after tomorrow’s press run. If the weather doesn’t cooperate we may have
to send some to the landfill. This cost
is very expensive. Mr. King asked why
this happens every winter. It should be
hauled before getting to this point. This is a waste of people’s money. Mr. Harrison called Mr. Heater and they do
not have a “tight” enough truck to haul the sloppy stuff. Mr. Hudson asked if
in the future we can take the opportunity- before it comes to this point - to haul a few loads. Mr.
King feels drying the sludge on the cement is not a
good idea but Mr. Harrison said sand isn’t a good idea either.
