EMS Chief Jones would like Council to approve new
EMS Chief Jones said Teresa Yoder will be completing the
Mr. Legge ordered the No Engine Brake signs in the amount of $560.00 for 8 signs.
Mr. Legge will have a cost for chipping the compost pile next meeting.
Mr. Legge talked about getting a new truck and Whites Ford
in
Fire Chief Esch was here explaining the changing of the equipment. The tank was changed and Tracy Oelker did a lot of that work. They also purchased a fire pump for the grass truck with donation money.
Rick Esh and Fire Chief Esch attended a meeting in
Resolution 2008-R1 entitled
“A RESOLUTION TO CHARGE SERVICES FOR EMERGENCY SQUAD FOR THE VILLAGE OF WEST
LIBERTY, OHIO” was read.
A MOTION was made by Mrs.
Hamilton seconded by Mr. Lance to suspend the rule requiring three separate
readings. Motion Carried.
A MOTION was made by Mrs. Coy
seconded by Mr. Lance to adopt Resolution 2008-R1entitled “A RESOLUTION TO
CHARGE SERVICES FOR EMERGENCY SQUAD FOR THE VILLAGE OF WEST LIBERTY, OHIO.”

Ordinance 2008-01 entitled “An Ordinance approving the editing and inclusion of certain Ordinances as parts of the various component codes of the codified Ordinances of West Liberty, Ohio and declaring an Emergency” was read. A MOTION was made by Mr. Lance seconded by Ms. Schwaderer to suspend the rules requiring three separate readings. Motion Carried.

The street committee would
like to see Mr. Legge use the grit if needed and not worry about the cost.
A letter was read by Mr. Mark
Alltop in regards to
Chief Murray was not present
and is table for now.
Mr. Harrison sprained his
ankle on the job and Mr. Lance (acting Mayor) told him we would pay for the
treatment instead of turning it into BWC.
Council Members agreed.
Mr. Hyland was asking if this
was legal and Solicitor Moell explained it was like having car insurance and if
you did not want to turn a claim into the insurance and pay for it
Out- of- pocket this was
fine.
Bob Harrington called Mr.
Lance (acting Mayor) last week and said he would like to turn the upstairs of
the
Clerk Boyd was asked about
putting another thermostat in the Community room for the church group. Council thought they would be able to use
space heaters because they may forget to turned down
the heat when they or anyone leaves after the meeting.
Clerk Boyd also asked if the
charge for the Church could be more because the cost the heat and electric has
increased and they have used it every Sunday for a year.
Council thought $25.00 weekly
would not be unreasonable. Clerk Boyd
will contact Pastor Bradfield.
New committees are as
follows:
Safety: Mr. Lance and Mr.
Hostetler
Finance: Mrs. Hamilton and
Ms. Schwaderer
Street: Mrs. Coy and Mr.
Hyland
Public records: Ms. Schwaderer
and Mrs. Hamilton
Volunteer Firefighters Dept.
Fund: Mrs. Coy and Mrs. Hamilton
Solicitor Moell discussed the
standstill agreement for the LeVan litigation and
suggested we sign this agreement. A
MOTION was made by Mrs. Hamilton seconded by Mr. Hyland to sign this agreement.
Motion Carried.
Finances were discussed in
great length. Clerk Boyd met with
finance committee and Acting Mayor Lance to discuss cuts needing to be made
within certain departments.
General Fund needs to cut
about $30,000.00,
It was also discussed about
putting an income tax on the ballot in November for 1.25% and having a .25%
credit. This will be discussed more at a later date.

Schwaderer, seconded by Mrs. Hamilton to adjourn at
